The Nosing Glass...
This very particular shape of 17th century glass is used by the Distillery Manager and the Master Blender when nosing new and mature whiskies.
Before nosing, still water (at room temperature) should be added to a ratio of 1:1 for cask strength, and 2:1 for bottle strength. The spirit is then agitated, covered with the watch glass and left for 5-10 minutes
We are pleased to offer both the nosing glass and a delightful Whiskey DVD video offering a look into the history of whisky.
